About Me

Photography has been my love for many years and yes as a kid  I did really have a little bakelite pocket Kodak ‘Box Brownie’ (for those of you old enough to know what they were) with the old 127 roll film with only 12 exposures. Some years later I used to spend hours under the red glow of a safelight in my darkroom with the thrill and anticipation of watching the images appear for the very first time on the blank exposed photographic paper in the developing tray. Now I do all the stuff I used to do in the darkroom on a PC with a mouse and tablet in Photoshop and Lightroom and get perfect results every time rather than holding my breath and seeing if I had the image I hoped when I pressed the shutter.

After working in London within the media for many years for publishing and advertising companies such as Daily Mail and ITN, and even getting involved in the internet/dotcom boom of the later 90’s, I decided to take the plunge and make something that was already substantially more than a hobby my full time career and sole income, Now several years later I have shot well over 100 weddings of all shapes, sizes and budgets in some of the finest venues in the UK and even the odd destination wedding abroad.

Being a bit of a perfectionist in anything I put my mind to, I studied and have along the way acquired a few fancy letters after my name. I have been awarded licentiateship distinctions from both the Royal Photographic society (LRPS) and the BPPA.

I suppose it’s fair to say that I have an unhealthy knowledge of all things wedding.

I choose only to  photograph weddings making Wedding Photography my speciality and what a fantastic job and an honour it is to be asked to document one of the most important days in a couples life. My wonderful wife is also Ellie Sanderson, owner of the award winning Bridalwear shops in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. So I am proud to say I can spot a Suzanne Neville or Sassi Holford wedding gown a mile off, I do understand the importance of Jimmy Choo and Christian Laboutin and fully get the need to keep my camera off you on your wedding morning until you at least have your lippy on.

My relaxation in life is living by the Thames in a beautiful Oxfordshire village with my wife Ellie and our mischivious lilac Burmese kitten ‘Myla’ (who clients vising the house usually fall in love with and want to take home with them!). I also love scuba diving and underwater photography and live in hope that someone will ask me to shoot their wedding underwater one day. Until then I am more than happy photographing weddings across the Home Counties in some of the UK’s finest venues.

My other non-photography love is my music, I play tenor and soprano Sax and am a huge Jazz fan. Until I became so busy with shooting weddings a few years ago I was often to be found gigging with various bands at weddings too. Bizarre really, my whole life now seems surrounded by weddings!

So like many ex-corporate board directors I wake every Monday and thank my lucky stars that I chose to swap my corporate media life in London for the wonderfully fulfilling life I have in Oxfordshire.  Doing something that makes me incredibly happy and fulfilled and most importantly that fulfils me creatively.
